Apple held its latest event moments ago and showcased some of its upcoming products. Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, initiated this virtual event from Apple’s headquarters in California. It was announced that this Apple event would focus on the Apple Watch and iPad, leaving out the iPhone entirely, thus confirming the theory that the iPhone 12 has been delayed by at least a month.

Nonetheless, we saw some exciting features of the Apple Series 6 smartwatch, the Apple Watch SE, and the latest iPad lineup.  

Series 6 of the Apple Watch

Apple showcased the latest Apple Watch at its Cupertino tech conference. Apple Watch Series 6 is the first smartwatch to tell its users their blood oxygen levels. The oxygen level in your blood indicates how well your cardiovascular system is functioning. 

Light beams are shined through your skin to determine the saturation of oxygen in your blood by looking at the color of your blood. As a result, you no longer need a pulse oximeter to determine your blood oxygen saturation.

It will also be the first Apple Watch to come in Product Red. The Apple Watch Series 6 is also available in seven different colors and two bands. The silicone bands slide over your wrist and are free of clasps or parts that attach to one another.

This latest addition to the Apple Watch family is exciting because of its power efficiency, which keeps the watch display on at all times. The latest Apple Watch will run on the newest S6 processor, which is up to 20 percent faster than the previous generation. 

You get a blood-oxygen saturation indicator, a real-time altimeter, memojis, and fall detection. There is a family feature that allows cellular Apple watches (Series 3 and better) to link with a family member’s iPhone and display information about the watch owner. Parents can use this feature to keep an eye on their kids when they leave for school or other outdoor activities.

The Apple Watch Series 6 will be available soon for $399 in the US and around ₹41000 in India.

Watch OS 7 will be available on all new Apple Watches.

Watch SE for Apple

Apple also introduced the budget-friendly Apple Watch SE, which fills the gap between the Apple Watch Series 3 and Apple Watch Series 6. A pair of Apple Watch Series 3 is priced at $199, whereas this one costs $279. 

It will have the same display as the Apple Watch Series 6 and will be two times brighter than the previous-generation Apple Watch. Apple Watch SE will feature the same S5 chip that powers the Apple Watch 3. Budget-oriented users will be able to get some features from the premium Apple Watch Series 6. 

The charging components of these watches were also a major announcement by Apple. Apple will ship the watch without a charger to reduce its impact on the environment. Since most people have Type-C chargers, shipping another charger serves no purpose except to consume more natural resources.
